Wednesday 11th & Thursday 12th March
PORTSEA GOLF CLUB & SORRENTO GOLF CLUB
For the first time, Portsea Golf Club and Sorrento Golf Club hosted the 2026 TLC Healthcare Point Nepean Legends Pro-Am together, held on Wednesday 11 and Thursday 12 March 2026.
This new event on the PGA Legends Tour was staged across both clubs and played in a two-day 4BBB format, pairing players with a Legends Tour Professional for the event – mirroring the famous Pebble Beach Pro-Am.
The event also rekindles the Point Nepean title, a connection to our shared history, last seen when both clubs hosted an Open Amateur event called the Nepean Open.
Wet and blustery conditions greeted the players across both days, with many interstate players not expecting Victoria’s notorious ‘four seasons in a day’.
Adam Henwood burst out of the blocks early on day one at Portsea Golf Club, carding the low round of the day with a four under par 67.
South African, Leon Trenerry, also started strongly with three under 68, while a pack of contenders only a couple shots off the pace, including legends Peter Lonard, Terry Pilkadaris and Jason Norris.
Day 2 brought even tougher conditions, with stronger winds and more rain testing the Legends at the short yet demanding Sorrento Golf Club. Overnight leader, Adam Henwood, stumbled out of contention with a 77, while Trenerry also struggled in the conditions, posting a 76.
As most of the field moved backwards, only one player in the field managed to break par in both rounds, and that was Terry Pilkadaris with rounds of 69 and 68. Pilkadaris only double bogey came at the Par 4 17th at Portsea, where, after watching his amateur partner hit it out of bounds off the tee – despite claiming he had never done so in almost 20 years as a member – he promptly followed him over the fence. Pilkadaris spoke glowingly about the condition and variety of holes at both Portsea and Sorrento, noting that they are two of the best courses on the Legend’s Tour circuit.
An outstanding two rounds of golf made him a thoroughly deserving champion of the TLC Healthcare Point Nepean Legends Pro-Am.
On the amateur side of the tournament, Gerard Higgins was the best of the bunch with 70 points across the two rounds, 36 at Portsea and 34 at Sorrento, off a handicap of 18. Josh Walsh and Paul McRedmond rounded out the podium with 66 and 61 points respectively.
A big thank you to TLC Healthcare for sponsoring the event which would not have been made possible without their help.
